The Venezuelan Brass Ensemble, formed in 2004, is the most important young brass players' ensemble of our country. It is made up of El Sistema’s finest brass players and percussionists, who as well carry out an important educational work within the National System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras of Venezuela. Continuos rehearsals, regular concerts and a specialized education program have made of the Venezuelan Brass Ensemble a unique group of musicians whose ensemble playing is altogether exemplary. The ensemble gave is first concert under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel, and the German trumpet maestro Thomas Clamor has been its principal conductor since then. It has participated in several important concert cycles in Venezuela and has toured some Latin-American countries, Germany and Switzerland. In 2007, the Venezuelan Brass Ensemble made a notable Proms debut before more than five thousand enthusiastic listeners at London’s Royal Albert Hall, receiving enthusiastic reviews from the press. That same year, its first album We Got Rhythm, and the concert DVD Gran Fanfaria were released. |
