
| SBYOV and Dudamel continue their tour in Venezuela |

The second leg of Al Encuentro con Venezuela Tour started last Monday, January 25, with a great concert held at the Plaza de Toros La Monumental in the city of Valencia. The next stop is in Maracaibo, next Friday, January 25. During each one of the concerts, the SBYOV will share stages with local youth orchestras and perform a concert program that includes Wagner’s Rienzi Overture, Tchaikovsky’s Francesca da Rimini, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony N° 4 and 1812 Overture, Evencio Castellanos’ Santa Cruz de Pacairigua, and Dvorak’s Slavonic Dances. The Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela and its conductor, Gustavo Dudamel, began the year touring our country after closing a successful 2009 season that included a national tour --that attracted over 60,000 people-- and performances in Finland, Switzerland, Germany, United States, England, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Italy, France, and Canada, countries where they received great popular and critical acclaim.Tribute to the Divina Pastora Gustavo Dudamel will pay tribute to the Divina Pastora --a Marian image venerated in Spain and Latin American Countries-- on January 26 at 17:00 local time at La Justicia Square in Barquisimeto.In that location, Dudamel will conduct the Symphony Orchestra of Lara, the Youth and Children’s Orchestras and the System of Youth and Children’s Choirs of Lara in the performance of a specially chosen program.
