The Simón Bolívar Latin-Caribbean Orchestra, conducted by professor Alberto Vergara (percussionist, composer and arranger who has been a member of the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra for thirty years) is an ensemble formed at the Simón Bolívar Conservatory of Music in 2010 for the purpose of exploring and promoting the dissemination of the Latin Caribbean music, thus contributing to the development of the cultural identity of Venezuela as part of the country’s social transformation undertook by El Sistema.
