Next Saturday, May 18, at 5:00 p. m., the American musician will conduct the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra at the Center for Social Action through Music in Caracas.

Jose Antonio Abreu, the Venezuelan founder of the groundbreaking music-education program known as El Sistema, will make two appearances -- one open to the public -- next week at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he will receive an honorary doctorate and give the school's 2013 commencement address.

The renowned French pianist and conductor Philippe Entremont will perform as soloist with the Simón Bolívar symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, under maestro Eduardo Marturet, next Friday, May 10, at 6:00 p. m. at the Center for Social Action through Music.
