From December 10 to 15, the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela, led by Gustavo Dudamel, redefined once more the symphony concerts by performing in three very well-attended open-air concerts in the cities of Caracas, Barquisimeto, and Mérida, where they shared the stage with El Sistema’s new generations.

These concerts provided the SBYOV with the opportunity to interact with the members of the youth and children's orchestras of Lara and Mérida. The national tour entitled Al Encuentro con Venezuela fulfilled one of El Sistema's purposes: to make music for majorities by majorities. That is exactly what happened when Gustavo Dudamel and the SBYOV, along with hundreds of young musicians, performed to almost 45,000 people during this tour, which has been described by the press as a significant event.
